Early Sunday morning in downtown West Jefferson, North Carolina, just before sunrise. I headed out around 6 a.m. to photograph the quiet streets and was especially pleased with the starburst from the lamppost in front of the historic Old West Jefferson Hotel. I also got lucky — no construction equipment in sight that morning.
This image captures the peaceful feel of Main Street before the day begins and has since been featured in Our Statemagazine, making it a meaningful local scene from Ashe County and the Blue Ridge Mountains.
